USAA Appoints Boyd and Donnelly as GC and AGC
Michael Boyd has been named USAA Real Estate’s new general counsel, culminating a 30-year relationship with the company and its affiliates, where Boyd served in his previous role as partner at Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP. Boyd’s 32-year tenure with the firm includes his most recent assignment as partner in charge of HAK’s Houston’s office.
“Michael is joining us following the outstanding performance of his predecessor as general counsel, Steve Waters,” said Len O’Donnell, president and chief executive officer of USAA Real Estate.
Boyd is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Real Estate Lawyers Council. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the SMU Dedman School of Law.
“We are also very pleased to announce and welcome Rachel Donnelly to our legal team as assistant general counsel, as she brings a wealth of experience to our organization,” said O’Donnell. Donnelly previously served as real estate special counsel at Baker Botts for a decade and prior to that, as general counsel, managing director and chief compliance officer at Hawkeye Partners L.P.
