Ample Hills Founders Lease Retail Space for Their Next Venture
TerraCRG completed a long-term commercial lease with Jackie Cuscuna and Brian Smith, founders of Ample Hills, to open their next venture in Prospect Heights. The 2,700-square-foot space at 816 Washington Ave. will be home to the Social, an ice cream shop, production space and community gathering spot that will also feature coffee and donuts.
The announcement comes one year to the day that Ample Hills filed for bankruptcy and was eventually bought by a Portland, OR-based firm. Cuscuna and Smith left soon after and began planning their new concept.
“Despite the lingering effects of the global pandemic, Brooklyn’s homegrown businesses are resilient, and Jackie and Brian are perfect examples of the spirit and tenacity of our local retailers,” said Peter Schubert, managing director of commercial leasing at TerraCRG, who represented the tenant in the transaction.
The Social is targeting an opening date this summer.
