Yesway Expands Texas Presence with 13-Store Acquisition
Convenience store chain Yesway continues to grow its footprint in Texas through the acquisition of 13 Chisum Travel Center and Fast Stop convenience stores. With the buy, the Des Moines, IA-based company now owns and operates 52 stores in the Lone Star State. Two of the stores are located in Lubbock, further expanding the chain’s footprint in Northwest Texas.
“We have always been attracted to the Texas market, and continue to evaluate numerous portfolios and individual store acquisitions in the state,” says Thomas W. Brown, Yesway’s director of acquisitions. “The Texas economy is strong, and companies like ours benefit greatly from … positive demographic trends. Our goal is to expand our Texas portfolio to well over 100 stores in the coming years.”
Yesway has another portfolio under contract, and the chain expects to expand to 150 stores within the next two months. Currently, it owns 116 stores in five states and hopes to grow to 500 locations.
