Yerba Buena Cultural District Getting $500M Condo Tower
Millennium Partners has reportedly filed permits to build a $500-million, 45-story mixed-use condo tower and four-story Mexican Museum at 706 Mission St. in San Francisco. The un-named project could be completed by early 2019, after experiencing more than 10 years of fundraising, approvals and lawsuits.
The NY-based developer says the up to 190-unit residential project is potentially the most expensive in San Francisco. Units are designed to average 2,700 square feet, and prices are expected to exceed $2,000 per-square-foot.
Excavation, shoring and underpinning for the 501-foot tower are awaiting approval, in order to begin construction by March. Millennium and a partner bought the property for $23 million in 2006.
Handel Architects is the architect for the condo tower. HSBC is providing financing for the project.
