Work Begins on 259-Room SpringHill Suites and Element-Downtown Colorado Springs
Hotel Equities partnered with Olive Real Estate Group to break ground on SpringHill Suites and Element-Downtown Colorado Springs, a dual-branded hotel property in the CBD. The project is anticipated to open in 2021, and will represent the first combination of these two brands under one roof.
Furthermore, the project at 402 S. Tejon St. will be the first Qualified Opportunity Zone development to break ground in Colorado Springs. The Urban Renewal Authority project will offer 259 rooms, 4,200 square feet of meeting and event space, 216 underground public parking spaces, street-level retail and a rooftop restaurant and bar.
In addition to using local vendors, contractors and subcontractors, the partners want to engage organizations to encourage local hospitality curriculum and promote social impact in the community. Once open, the hotel will provide employees of the property with on-the-job management and leadership training programs with the goal of promoting entry-level employees to management-level positions.
