WinnCompanies to Develop $38M Workforce Housing Project in Lowell

Multifamily development and management company WinnCompanies has announced plans for a $38.3 million workforce housing development in the Hamilton Canal Innovation District, a collection of 17 master-planned parcels in downtown Lowell.

Located approximately 25 miles northwest of Boston, the project will include two five-story buildings comprising 125 apartments and 5,000 square feet of commercial space. The unit mix will consist of 15 studio units, 63 one-bedroom units and 47 two-bedroom residences.

Of the residential units, 54 workforce apartments will be affordable up to 60% of area median income, and 32 will rent at market rates. The project is being designed by ICON Architecture, and slated for completion by September of 2021.
