WinCo Begins Carrollton Store Construction

WinCo Foods launched construction on a ground-up anchor store at Trinity Valley Shopping Center, at President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) and Josey Lane in Carrollton, TX, a Dallas suburb. The Boise, ID-based discount grocer plans to open the store in Q1 2018.

WinCo is taking space that once housed a Target store. The Target closed in 2015 and, shortly after, WinCo announced its intention to open on the site. The Target was demolished, with the site prepared for the grocer’s development.

The 300,000-square-foot Trinity Valley Shopping Center delivered in the 1970s. Tenants include Ulta, Ross Dress for Less, rue21, Petco, Bath & Body Works, Lane Bryant, Dress Barn and GameStop.  Restaurants include International Bakery, Chili’s and Subway.

Weitzman’s Randy Stebbins and Kathy Detrick are working with WinCo on construction. Matt Luedtke and Byron Howard with Weitzman handle leasing at Trinity Valley, while the company’s Zoe Lopez is the property’s manager.
