Wicker Park Retail, Apartments Set
The 2.5-acre Wicker Park Connection mixed-use development on Division Street near Ashland Avenue is filling in, with retail tenants leasing space and a second apartment tower nearing completion.
Hubbard Street Group announced that a 12,800-square-foot Target store is planned for 1664 W. Division St., anchoring the initial multifamily property that opened in fall 2016. A Salon Lofts outlet is also planned, but no development information has been announced.
The 15-story, 146-unit Wicker Connection II multifamily property at 1640 W. Division is scheduled to open in June. The unit mix comprises 80% studios and one-bedrooms, and 20% two and three-bedrooms. Twenty units will be earmarked for lower-income residents.
Construction of this property was estimated at $32.5 million.
The development is also expected to include 17 townhomes and a seven-story condominium property. One-third of the land is set aside for gardens and a pathway from Division Street to Milwaukee Avenue.
