White Lodging Launches Construction on Dual-Brand Hotel

White Lodging Services Inc. began construction on an 11-story, 347-key hotel near the University of Texas. The dual-branded project is going north at 1901 San Antonio St., and will host White Lodging’s first boutique hotel in Austin, and an AC Hotel by Marriott.

The boutique hotel, called The Otis Hotel, will be part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The 191-room Otis Hotel will have a rooftop pool bar. Both hotels will share a ground-level restaurant and 7,500 square feet of meeting space. HKS Hospitality is the architect, and DPR Construction the general contractor.

The opening date for both hotels is scheduled for late 2019. The two brands represent White Lodging’s 12th and 13th hotels in Austin. The company is currently building the 613-room Austin Marriott Downtown, which is slated to be up and running in July 2020.
