WeWork Takes 60K SF for Ninth Chicago Site

WeWork is set to open its ninth Chicago location, the company confirmed Tuesday. The coworking giant has leased more than 60,000 square feet at Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management’s 222 S. Riverside Plaza, for a space that will offer 1,100-plus desks across two floors.

“We’re thrilled to announce WeWork 222 S Riverside as our ninth Chicago location,” said Megan Dodds, Midwest GM for WeWork. “Located just blocks away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station and access to I-90 and I-94, WeWork 222 S Riverside will give WeWork members beautifully designed workspace, great amenities, and ample transportation options.”

The company’s existing Chicago locations span River North, the Loop and the Fulton Market District. Flatiron School, which WeWork acquired in 2017, will launch its Chicago campus at WeWork’s 515 N. State St. location in 2019.
