WeWork Swaps Space with Zenefits
Giant co-working office firm WeWork is reportedly in discussions to assume space at Zenefits’ SoMa headquarters at 303 Second St. The transaction involves WeWork swapping space with the troubled human resources and insurance software startup.
Zenefits would relocate into roughly three floors at Bentall Kennedy’s 600 California St., the 20-story tower where WeWork signed a lease for about 70,000 square feet earlier this year. WeWork would then move into Zenefits former space at Kilroy Realty’s property on second street.
A Zenefits’ representative says there are a “number of options” being considered as the firm downsizes, including one with WeWork, though no deal has been finalized. WeWork declined to comment. Landlords for the two properties also declined to comment.
