WeWork Expands in DC’s Chinatown, Three-Floor Deal with Bentall Kennedy

WeWork plans to open its 11th location in the Washington, D.C. area, and its second in Chinatown. The shared workspace provider is taking the top three floors at 777 6th St., a 187,937-square-foot office property owned by Bentall Kennedy’s U.S. Core Fund.

WeWork operates a nearby location at 718 7th St., and plans to offer 900 desks in the 54,277 square-foot, 11-story building, located near Capital One Arena and the Chinatown Metro station. The company expects to take occupancy of the new space by the end of this year.

The deal comes just two months after the previous tenant, law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan’s lease expired for the space.

JLL’s Zach Boroson and Andy O’Brien handled lease negotiations for the tenant. Transwestern’s Joe Michel and Scott Fetterolf represented the landlord.
