Wetzel’s Pretzels Targeting Texas Expansion
Wetzel’s Pretzels wants to grow in the Lone Star State, and hopes to open franchises in Central, South and West Texas. Doug Flaig, the company’s Vice President of Franchise Development, will host exploratory meetings with qualified multiunit operators in Austin, Houston and San Antonio the week of Oct. 22, 2018.
Wetzel’s Pretzels rose to prominence by offering fresh-made soft pretzels, fresh lemonade and its branded Cin-a-Bitz treats. The California-headquartered company indicated that Texas represents a positive growth opportunity, due to well-trafficked, large properties across the state.
The company currently has operations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Corpus Christi and Austin, and would like to open in the following retail centers:
- Barton Creek Square, Austin
- San Marcos Premium Outlets, San Marcos
- Cielo Vista Mall, El Paso
- South Plains Mall, Lubbock
