Westchester Offices Up, Fairfield Down

April 25, 2017

The market for office space is getting stronger in Westchester County and weakening in Fairfield County.

“We saw a tale of two counties during the first quarter,” said Jeffrey Williams, executive managing director for Colliers International Group.

In Westchester County, a surge in the repurposing of obsolete office properties had a positive material impact on the market, with a substantial decline in the availability rate and an upward trend in asking rents.

Fairfield County, however, stumbled out of the gate to start the year, with a softening in asking rental rates and a climb in the availability rate.
