Welcome Group Acquires Site at Cedar Port

Houston-based Welcome Group acquired 23 acres of industrial land located on Cedar Boulevard at Trans-Global Solutions’ Cedar Port Industrial Park for future projects.

Located adjacent to Baytown and reportedly the largest master-planned rail- and barge-served industrial park in the U.S., Cedar Port spans 15,000 acres, much of which remains available for development.

“We are thrilled to add a Cedar Port Industrial Park property to our ever-growing portfolio of commercial and industrial properties in the greater Houston area,” said president and CEO Welcome Wilson, Jr. “We look forward to the future development of this tract.”

Deal terms weren’t disclosed. Welcome Group SVP Ryan Wasaff represented Welcome Group. An NAI Partners team of John Simons, Joel Michael and Holden Rushing represents Cedar Port’s ownership.

Major companies located within Cedar Port include IKEA with a one-million square-foot facility, Home Depot and Walmart, which has its largest import distribution complex at the park.
