WaterWalk Targets TX, CO for Development

Wichita, KS-based WaterWalk Hotel Apartments, a model that expands mostly through franchising, has signed a $150 million agreement with Rockford Development Group to build new hotels in the Texas cities of Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, along with Denver, CO.

Rockford Development, in Grand Rapids, MI, is anticipated to launch construction on the first San Antonio property next month. WaterWalk will also break ground this year in Denver, Tulsa, OK; Raleigh, NC, Louisville, KY; Minneapolis, Kansas City and Chicago.

“This announcement comes on the heels of a $100 million deal we completed with U.K.-based investment firm, Henley,” said David Redfern, president, WaterWalk Real Estate & Franchise. The Henley deal involves sites in Albany, NY; Charlotte, NC, and Florida.
