Waste Management Inks 284K-SF Deal at Capitol Tower

Waste Management Inc. signed a 15-year lease to take down 284,000 square feet in Capitol Tower, a 754,000-square-foot office tower under development by Skanska in downtown Houston. The tenant will relocate its headquarters from its current space at 1001 Fannin to the Skanska building at 800 Capitol St. in 2020.

The lease puts the office portion of the mixed-use property, which is schedule to open in mid-2019, at 72% leased. Bank of America already leased 205,000 square feet in the building, and has the naming rights.

CBRE’s Rich Pancioli, Jon Lee and Lisa Konieczka represented Waste Management in the transaction. Kristen Rabel and Warren Savery, also with CBRE, negotiated on behalf of Skanska.
