Wal-Mart Plans Texarkana Training Academy
As part of its national training initiative, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will build a training facility during the first half of 2017 in Texarkana, TX. The goal is to improve job skills, thereby boosting salary potential.
The facility will be one of hundreds in the U.S. that will provide a two-week course for front-end supervisors and hourly department managers. The Texarkana facility will serve 26 Wal-Mart Superstore and Neighborhood Markets across the region.
The academy will be built at 4000 New Boston Rd., the site of an existing Wal-Mart Superstore. Wal-Mart has not disclosed what form the facility will take. A spokesperson said the center could be re-purposed storage rooms from the current store, a prefab building serving as the classroom, or a newly built facility.
