UTSA Obtains Approval for 372-Bed Guadalupe Hall

The University of Texas System regents approved the final design for the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Guadalupe Hall, a 372-bed student housing project on the UTSA main campus. The development, which will house freshmen, will be built at a cost of $43.6 million.

The approval means the project team can move forward on construction, with much of the money coming from the system’s revenue financing. The remainder will come from UTSA reserves. Guadalupe Hall is at the corner of Brenan and Tobin Avenues.

The building will house double-occupancy rooms, study lounges, an academic resource center, community lounges and kitchens, laundry rooms and a coffee shop. Alamo Architects is designing the residence hall, in partnership with Treanor HL. Whiting-Turner is the construction manager.

Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2019, with the first residents expected to move in before the fall 2021 semester.
