UTSA Campus Master Plan Approved by Board of Regents
The University of Texas System Board of Regents approved the Campus Master Plan of University of Texas-San Antonio. The plan — and its approval — will help guide development of close to 5.3 million square feet of space to support the university.
Specifically, the plan calls for investments in its main and downtown campus infrastructure, including connecting the downtown campus to San Antonio’s west side, and promoting an overall pedestrian-oriented and compact campus score. Also on the plan are goals to encourage mixed-use projects, and to develop different housing options.
During the next 10 years, UTSA is planning to boost enrollment to 45,000 students, develop new degree programs and extend its research enterprise abilities. As such, “The UTSA Campus Master Plan articulates a roadmap to guide the university’s future physical development, investment and growth to advance academic excellence for the success . . . ” said UTSA President Taylor Eighmy.
