UT Regents Allocate $95M to East Texas Facilities

The University of Texas System Board of Regents voted unanimously to allocate a total of $95 million to the UT Health Science Center at Tyler (TX) and UT Tyler. The funds will be used to construct two facilities on the UT East Texas campus.

The regents earmarked $60 million for a Graduate Medical Education & Resident teaching Facility at UT Health Science Center at 11937 U.S. 271. The remaining $35 million will go to an Advanced Nursing & Health Sciences Complex at UT Tyler’s campus on University Boulevard. A release from UT Tyler indicated that there is no timeline for the nursing school, but site evaluation and architectural design will immediately commence.
