US Storage Expands Footprint, Nabs 379 Units

US Storage Centers acquired a 379-unit, 43,775-square-foot self-storage facility from Move It Self Storage. The facility is at 5405 Wasson Rd., southwest of Austin’s central business district. The sale price was not disclosed, but the Travis Central Appraisal District valued the asset at $4.7 million.

US Storage Centers represented itself in the acquisition. Bill Bellomy, Michael Johnson and John Arnold of Bellomy & Co. represented the seller of the property, which delivered in 1999.

The buyer currently owns and operates 20 self-storage facilities in Texas. “We are a long-term believer in the Austin self-storage market, and are confident that the city will continue to attract bright and energetic people wanting to grow roots in this very popular city,” said US Storage Centers’ Charles Byerly. “Getting an opportunity to purchase another Austin facility, and have a strong foothold in the market is always a benefit we look for as we implement our acquisitions strategy.”
