Urban Visions Launches Modern Heritage Development in Seattle’s Pioneer Square
Seattle-based Urban Visions broke ground on The Jack, a 145,000-square-foot creative office building in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square District. The nearly half-acre site at 74 South Jackson lies along the newly-created waterfront that’s emerged now that the viaduct’s been demolished.
Urban Visions’ Greg Smith says, “We designed a building that is going to be a showpiece for Pioneer Square and the city. It is a beautiful structure. It is a piece of art and responds to the surrounding historic district. It complements the historic district but is a new building. That is tricky to do, not to feel out of place. I think we’ve set the bar for others to try to achieve that same beauty.”
The seven-story building will offer a rooftop penthouse deck and amenity space, as well as street-level retail when it delivers in Q4 2021. The modern heritage design by Seattle-based Olson Kundig features brick façades inspired by the neighborhood’s defining historic buildings.
NKF’s Cavan O’Keefe, David Marks, Jesse Ottele and Daniel Seger are handling the leasing.
