Urban Catalyst Plans Fountain Alley Development
San Jose-based Urban Catalyst submitted a site development permit for their Fountain Alley building located at 26 and 30 South 1st St. in downtown San Jose. An adaptive reuse of an historic building, the property will include 73,000 square feet of office space and 14,000 square feet of retail space on historic Fountain Alley, next to the Bank of Italy office tower, near a future BART Station and VTA.
Urban Catalyst’s Erik Hayden says, “Working closely with the city, we are excited to see our vision for the Fountain Alley project move closer to becoming a reality. The active reimagining of this building is key to revitalizing the area.”
The six-story development is a joint effort with Urban Community’s Gary Dillabough. Plans include a 5,000-square foot rooftop bar, on track to be the largest in San Jose. Pre-zoned and pre-general planned for mixed-use, the project will break ground in 2021, with completion scheduled for 2022.
Connect Opportunity Zones will be presented for the first time on Oct. 23 in New York. For more information, or to register, click here.
