University of Incarnate Word Buys AT&T Property
Less than three months after AT&T placed one of its local buildings up for sale, the telecommunications giant accepted an acquisition offer from University of Incarnate Word for its 347,426-square-foot office building. The university will use the building and parking at 4119 Broadway St., and the 10 acres on which it sits, for much-needed expansion space.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Brent Smith and Ed Cross represented AT&T in marketing the property, and in the sales negotiations. University officials didn’t disclose agreement details, which require approval by trustees in June. The sales price was also undisclosed.
UIW President Thomas Evans told the San Antonio Business Journal that the building could be used for office, classroom or residential space. Furthermore, “the parking is something we have coveted for a while,” he added.
