United Airlines Shifts Ops to New LaGuardia Concourse

United Airlines has begun operations at five new gates of the new eastern concourse of Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport, as part of the ongoing $8-billion complete rebuild of the airport. The airline is expected to operate roughly 40 flights per day out of the new gates.

With United moving to the eastern concourse, 16 of the 18 new gates will be in operation, with the final two gates scheduled to open in 2020.

The 250,000-square-foot concourse opened last December, with its first 11 gates servicing Southwest, Air Canada, and American Airlines.

“The move of United and its passengers into the first new concourse at Terminal B marks another key milestone of the $8 billion redevelopment of an entirely new LaGuardia Airport,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. “And we are undertaking this comprehensive rebuilding of LaGuardia Airport while continuing full operation at LaGuardia and serving record numbers of passengers.”
