Twin Disc Starts Work on Factory

Twin Disc Inc. began construction on a new operations facility in Lufkin, TX. The 50,000-square-foot manufacturing plant will focus on producing power take-offs and clutches for heavy-duty industrial equipment. The East Texas factory is anticipated to open in early January, 2020.

The company, which is headquartered in Racine, WI, designs, manufactures and sells marine and heavy-duty, off-highway power transmission equipment. The new manufacturing plant in Lufkin will both assemble the company’s complete industrial product line, as well as be a distribution center for new products coming from European operations to the United States.

The city of Lufkin is financing construction of the new facility in the City Industrial Park on SH 103, and signed a 15-year lease with the company. Twin Disc will be responsible for creating at least 50 primary jobs, and making a minimal investment of $2 million in machinery and equipment.
