Twin Cities Law Firms Eschewing Corner Offices

According to a recent legal survey published by Cushman & Wakefield, law firms are spending less of their gross revenue on real estate, and are downsizing their space. And, a recent report released by JLL indicated that law firms in the Minneapolis area are reducing their space to 700 to 800-square feet, versus the 900 to 1,000-square foot average.

One such Twin Cities firm, Lindquist and Vennum, is shrinking from nearly 95,000 square feet to 81,000 square feet, and is moving toward a more open floor plan. The new space will also have more areas for informal meetings. Though offices for attorneys do exist, they will all be the same size, and will have the same furniture, rather than different sizes (depending on rank), and carte blanche to order custom furniture.
