Trinity Properties Unveils Art-Filled Piazza Plans in SF’s Mid-Market District

Trinity Properties is bringing a one-acre art-filled public piazza to its 1,900 unit apartment complex, Trinity Place on 8th street between Market and Mission streets. A 92-foot stainless steel sculpture of Venus, entitled C’era Una Volta (“Once Upon a Time”), by artist Lawrence Argent, will stand as the centerpiece of the plaza. It is only slightly shorter than the Statue of Liberty.

Late visionary developer Angelo Sangiacomo created the piazza, and bestowed its art collection to the city of San Francisco, a city that he loved and helped develop into what it is today. Ardent said, “Angelo’s taste was very classical. My passion is interpreting the classical through technology, and Angelo and his family had faith in what I designed.”

Arquitectonica designed the four high-rise apartment buildings surrounding the central courtyard, which will be a public gathering space, as well as serving to connect Mission and Market streets.
