TOD MXU Breaks Ground in DTLA
High Street Residential, an affiliate of Dallas-based Trammell Crow Company, in partnership with Principal Real Estate Investors and The Cesar Chavez Foundation, has broken ground on LA Plaza Village. The 425,000-square-foot, 355-unit transit-oriented development is located at Broadway and Spring St.’s in DTLA.
The contemporary urban village mixed-use development, designed by Los Angeles-based Johnson Fain, promises to become a public gathering place and serve as a vital connector between Union Station, the Historic Pueblo, Chinatown and the Civic Center.
A vibrant paseo, anchored by a Mexican-American food market, passes through the site and will include more than 40,000 square feet of retail, cafes, restaurants and cultural facilities.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2018.
