srmERNST/Hillwood JV Signs Exelixis for Harbor Bay BTS

A joint venture of srmERNST Development Partners and Hillwood Properties has signed Exelixis Inc. to a 20-year lease for a new build-to-suit building at the JV’s Harbor Bay Business Park. The new building encompasses 220,000 square feet of office space at 1951 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda, CA.

This is the second recent lease for new construction at Harbor Bay Business Park, following a lease for 127,000 square feet at 1310 Harbor Bay Parkway.

Exelixis, a life science company, relocated its headquarters from South San Francisco to Alameda approximately two years ago, and now occupies four of the six buildings existing at The Waterfront, a 385,000 square foot campus adjacent to the site, as part of the srm/Hillwood JV’s build-to-suit strategy supporting the growth of Exelixis.

Development plans fold in the new building to create an integrated campus environment, and call for sustainable design features. Development is planned for summer.
