SoFi Stadium Nearing Construction End Zone in L.A.
SoFi Stadium, the Kroenke Group’s new 70,000-seat home of the L.A. Rams and Chargers, is 85% complete and on schedule to open with a Taylor Swift concert in late July. And, according to the Los Angeles Times in its far-reaching update, at an estimated cost of $5 billion the stadium ranks as the priciest venue in NFL history.
Team owner Stan Kroenke privately funded the project in a private/public collaboration, and with delays and overages aside, the 2020 season is on the horizon and a punch list ever more relevant. As construction nears completion, Inglewood, CA city leaders are also looking to usher in an era of urban renewal beyond the stadium gates.
Kroenke Group’s nearly 300-acre Hollywood Park master plan is set to deliver an urban lifestyle district which will offer additional performance and hospitality venues paired to a mix of office, retail and residential components, and more than 20 acres of parkland.
