Sobrato Secures Redwood City Blessing on Broadway Plaza MXU

Connect Apartments is planned next month in Los Angeles. You can get more information and register to attend on this link.

Cupertino, CA-based Sobrato Organization received city approvals on Broadway Plaza, a mixed-use development in Redwood City, CA. The developer envisions a 520-unit apartment component along with roughly 420,000 square feet of office space, which will serve as a catalyst for a new, vibrant district on the 15.3-acre site along Broadway.

The transformative project is also planned to include 26,000 square feet of retail, a 10,000-square-foot childcare center and 1.6 acres of public open space with a dog park, water feature and a shaded plaza between the office and residential components. Development is expected to move ahead sometime next year, once site clean-up is completed and an existing strip mall at 1401 Broadway and a two-story office building at 1155 Broadway are demolished.

Sobrato spent five years working with the city and community on the project. The developer is partnering with MidPen Housing Corporation to provide 120 affordable units.
