Small-Format Target Coming to AvalonBay Tower
Target has signed on for 35,000 square feet of retail space at the base of AvalonBay Communities’ 1865 Broadway in Columbus Circle. The 172-unit residential tower is slated to open in the first quarter of 2019.
“AvalonBay’s 1865 Broadway offers Target one of the most unique retail opportunities in all of Manhattan,” said JLL’s Patrick A. Smith. “There are no other locations in this submarket that can offer retail space of this size and quality. The new residential tower offers an ideal location for the retailer to open a small-format store here in Manhattan.”
Smith led a JLL team representing AvalonBay that also included Matt Ogle, Corey Zolcinski and Erin Grace. They worked closely with AvalonBay’s Martin Piazzola, Jeff Topchik and Lauren Cahill. Target was represented by Ripco Real Estate’s Richard Skulnik.
In all, 1865 Broadway offers 67,000 square feet of retail space on four levels.
