Slack Says ‘Yes’ to Denver, But Unclear if its for HQ2
San Francisco-based Slack Technologies confirmed it plans to open an office in Denver later this year, though didn’t confirm it will be a second headquarters. The cloud messaging app company is also kicking the tires in Phoenix, Austin and Portland for a HQ2 office that would house 550 full-time employees.
A company spokesperson said “We are excited to open a new office in Denver later this year, and to join such a vibrant and innovative community. We look forward to sharing more in the months ahead.”
A key to the decision to open an office now in Denver hinged on a $10.5-million tax incentive package unanimously approved by the Colorado Office of Economic Development. The EDC deal encompasses performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credits that are spread over an eight-year period.
