Skender Foundation, Social Impact Fund Partner on Grant
The Skender Foundation, the philanthropic offshoot of Skender, has partnered with newly-launched social impact fund New Coast Foundation to make a grant to early childhood education nonprofit VOCEL, based on Chicago’s West Side. A newly-established endowment fund at the Skender Foundation is the source of its grant to VOCEL.
“We believe that Skender Foundation has a responsibility to invest in making communities stronger, and our new endowment fund allows us to provide long-term, meaningful grants that will make a considerable impact to organizations like VOCEL,” said foundation chair and president Cheryl Skender (pictured).
The foundation has supported community education and wellness programs across Chicago and San Francisco since 2012. The New Coast Foundation was founded by Alex Ross, who cofounded venture capital fund New Coast Ventures.
