Skanska Updates Vision for 30-Story Belltown MF Tower

New York City-based Skanska revealed new designs for a 30-story multifamily tower with ground-floor retail it plans to develop in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. The latest vision was shared leading up to an upcoming Design Review Board meeting next week.

The proposed residential tower includes 307 apartment units, 7,000 square feet of ground-level retail, and 154 below-grade parking stalls. The project’s conceptual design encompasses a generous ground plane with double-height retail and connection to the alley. The design also proposes a lower podium that is more in keeping with the scale of the surrounding low-rise historic structures and newly-built towers, which the Belltown community sought.

The architecture team includes New York City-based Grzywinski + Pons, as well as Seattle’s VIA Architecture. In October 2017, Skanska announced it purchased the 19,440-square-foot land parcel comprised of three properties at 2208, 2212 and 2218 4th Ave. from S A N L.L.C. for $21.6 million.
