SIOR Recognizes Top Deals, Dealmakers of 2019

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) announced its Top Transactions Award Winners of 2019. The Washington, D.C.-based group presents awards to SIORs who have completed the largest sales and lease transactions around the world, all ranked by dollar volume.

This year, nearly 500 SIOR members reported 2,575 transactions, totaling more than 147 million square feet and USD $19 billion in leases and sales in the industrial, investment, office, land, alternative assets, and redevelopment sectors.

SIOR’s Global President Mark Duclos says, “SIORs Top Transaction Award Winners reflect why our members are the best of the best in the industry. Congratulations to all of our recipients for a tremendous year and for continuously delivering superior service and upholding SIOR’s values.”

The largest transaction of 2019 was completed by Jim Kerrigan of North American Data Centers in Chicago, IL, who arranged the $345-million sale of a 1,473,360-square-foot industrial space in Ashburn, VA. for Corporate Office Properties Trust. Kerrigan also received awards for the largest non-member industrial transaction and largest non-member investment transaction.

Rounding out the top five transactions qualifying for 2019 awards are the following:

  • NKF’s Stephen Kapp, SIOR, a $260.5 million lease of 303,509 square feet of office space in Emeryville, CA (pictured), and winning the non member-to-member (M2M) award for an office transaction.
  • JLL’s Mark Detmer, SIOR, and Bo Mills, SIOR, arranged the $191.1-million sale of 1,454,240 square feet of industrial space in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, representing Big Lots, and winning the M2M awards for both largest investment and industrial transactions.
  • Colliers International’s Michael Mixer, SIOR, arranged the $130-million sale of 60 acres of land in Las Vegas, representing Harko, LLC, and winning the non M2M land transaction award.
  • JLL’s Stephen Grable, SIOR, along with Colliers International’s Garrett Scott, SIOR, and CRG Clayco’s Mike Demperio, arranged the $83.7-million lease of 1,318,680 square feet of industrial space in Greenville, SC, winning the M2M affiliate award.
