Siemens Investing $14M Annually into Digital Service Center
Siemens announced it would be investing $14 million a year to establish a Digital Service Center in Austin for its Building Technologies Division. The center, which will operate out of 34,000 square feet in an as yet unknown location, will help customers collect and convert building data into real-time information.
The new hub, which will employ 130 full-time people, is geared toward helping customers build value in buildings through operational and energy efficiencies. The Siemens team will leverage data from thousands of connected devices to help provide actionable information for users.
“Siemens has the technology and expertise to truly leverage data and IoT (internet of things) to connect buildings, to listen to buildings – they have a lot to say,” said Marcus Boerkei, Head of the Americas Digital Service Center for Siemens’ Building Technologies Division.
