SD’s Biotech Trade Group Biocom Opens Office in DTLA

San Diego’s non-profit biotech trade group signed a lease in Los Angeles, taking up suite 1780 at 444 S. Flower St in the Citigroup Center. Biocom’s CEO and President Joe Panetta hopes to expand Los Angeles’ burgeoning biotech industry.

San Diego is a life sciences hub, but Los Angeles has its own strengths to bring to the industry. With talent and prestigious research from world-renowned facilities like UCLA, USC and Cedars-Sinai, to name a few, the city has a lot to offer to SD’s life sciences.

Panetta said, “We think there’s an enormous opportunity to bring together the life-science community down here in San Diego and the life science community up in L.A.”

Biocom’s other office outside of the City of Angels and San Diego is in Japan, as the country’s expertise plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s success.
