Scottsdale’s Tallest Tower Planned at SkySong
Plaza Companies is seeking to add a $42-million office tower to SkySong that would be Scottsdale, AZ’s tallest building. Development plans were filed for SkySong 6, a six-story, 90-foot tall 150,000-square-foot building, envisioned to rise next to the iconic tent-canopy facility at the 42-acre mixed-use development on Scottsdale Rd.
SkySong 6 would be the first project under new zoning rules that allows building heights up to 90 feet. The city’s development review board must first approve the project. Construction could begin in Q1 2017, and be completed by the end of the year.
The reinforced-concrete structure features a facade with more glass and metal panels than the surrounding structures, three office buildings that are nearly 99% leased. A second-story glass-walled community balcony space offers views of the western buttes.
Lee & Associates’ R. Craig Coppola and Andrew S. Cheney will handle leasing.
