Sares Regis Breaks Ground on Fortinet’s New Sunnyvale HQ
Construction commenced on a 172,000-square-foot headquarters building for Fortinet in Sunnyvale. Sares Regis Group of Northern California (SRGNC)’s commercial real estate team has been engaged by the cybersecurity company to manage the development of a new facility that expands Fortinet’s footprint on Kifer Road.
SRGNC’s Jeff Birdwell says of the tight delivery timeline, “we’ve shortened our construction time by implementing a precast concrete structural system manufactured off-site. This will allow the firm to occupy their new headquarters significantly earlier than if conventional construction methods were used.”
The state-of-the-art building will seek a LEED Gold Energy Efficiency Rating, and is set to include advanced technologies, like a precast concrete structural system with a highly-efficient passive cooling system. A “night purge” system will be implemented to flush the warm air from the building, providing direct energy savings and significantly reducing the building’s overall carbon footprint.
Other project team members include Heller Manus Architects and DPR Construction.
