San Jose City Council Approves Jay Paul’s 3.8M-SF CityView Development
Jay Paul Co.’s proposed CityView Plaza redevelopment in downtown San Jose received an approval to proceed from the City Council. The San Francisco-based developer plans to convert the existing property into a 3.79-million-square-foot modern office campus across three towers.
The initial work encompasses demolishing nine existing buildings. Down the road, Jay Paul plans to raze the existing plaza before launching development on the first of three phases later this year. The plan calls for six interconnected buildings, with nearly two acres of outdoor bridges and roof gardens, two-story connecting bridges and an 80,000-square-foot fitness facility. The first phase includes the 19-story Tower A near Market Street and Park Avenue, which is slated for completion Q4 2024.
The redeveloped CityView project is expected to be home to as many as 20,000 employees at full build-out. The redevelopment is being viewed as a catalyst for the revitalization of downtown San Jose.
