San Francisco Voters Side with AirBnB

AirBnB remains victorious over the city of San Francisco with the defeat of Proposition F, which would have limited short-term housing rentals to 75 nights and required rental units to be registered with the city.

AirBnB invested $8M in its campaign effort that resulted in 55 percent of votes in its favor. The company says that this is a win for the middle-class who rent their space for supplemental income.

Regulatory uncertainty seems to be the last thing on the checklist before Air BnB’s IPO, with projections for $900M in revenue this year.
