San Diego State University Going LEED

The administration of San Diego State University is closer to making all of its student facilities closer to being LEED certified. Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union and the Aztec Recreation Center were both recently certified under the sustainability tag.

It took a little over a year for the student union to receive certification. It was awarded LEED Platinum for New Construction.

The recreation center, which has panels that are estimated to save about 300 tons of greenhouse gas, was given a LEED Gold Existing Building, designation.

The plan is for the university to have all student-related buildings LEED certified by 2020.
