San Diego Solar Panels Become a Government Standard

The City of San Diego is installing solar panels at 25 buildings around the area in an effort to make energy cheaper.

There is supposed to be $22 million saved over the 20-year deal the city has with SunEdison, and officials forecast that San Diego government buildings will save 45 percent in energy costs over the time period.

The City of San Diego is paying $26 million under the terms of the arrangement. If all goes well, another 40 building sites could be included.
