San Diego County Unemployment Drops
Unemployment in San Diego County is in better shape than the rest of California, as well as the overall U.S. average. San Diego’s rate dipped one-half percentage point in September, to 4.6 percent, with the addition of 2,500 jobs.
Local government saw the biggest increase in new positions, with 4,100, while health care and education posted a 2,500 job rise. Both the leisure and hospitality sectors experienced job decreases, with positions falling by 1,600.
San Diego County’s 4.6-percent unemployment rate beats the California average of 5.5 percent, as well as the 4.9-percent national average.
