San Antonio Home Sales Increase by 6%; Inventory Less Than 4 months
July 2019 home sales in the San Antonio metro jumped 6% year-over-year, with a total of 3,397 houses sold year-to-date, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR). The average sales price of $277,242 also represented a year-over-year increase of 6%, while the median price of $239,500 was 4% higher than what was reported in July 2018. Just 3.9 months of inventory was available.
Though the home prices increased, SABOR’s Grant Lopez indicated that the figures remained well below what was reported in Texas and the other major metros. The average sales price for a house in Texas was $303,087, while in Travis County (of which Austin is the county seat), the average price of a new home was $510,639. The average price of a Dallas County home was $355,290, while in Harris County (Houston is the county seat), the average stood at $320,971.
