Rosewood Acquires Final Acreage from Tobin Estate

Dallas-based Rosewood Property Co. acquired 44 acres near Harry Wurzback Road and the Loop 410 intersection in San Antonio. The property represents the final remaining piece of 500 acres that once belonged to Tobin Estates. The seller, Tobin Endowment, was created after the death of San Antonio Businessman Robert Tobin.

The buyer is also family-owned, specifically, the Caroline Hunt Trust Estate, which had been established in the 1930s by oil magnet H.L. Hunt. Rosewood’s plan is to put a mixed-use development on the site. Though permitting approval is still pending, utility work groundbreaking could start early next year.
