RocaPoint Partners Approved to Redevelop $1B Greenville, SC Project

RocaPoint Partners and The Georgetown Company received unanimous approval from the county of Greenville, SC for the $1-billion redevelopment of 37 acres along downtown’s University Ridge. The Atlanta-based developer will work with the county to revitalize the corridor and create a live-work-play district, complete with a new build-to-suit county government building.

The plan encompasses adding roughly three million square feet of Class A office, retail, hotels, residential and public spaces to Greenville’s County Square. The development is expected to bring up to 5,500 jobs. A new park, as well as a large open plaza and central gathering area connecting to trails will adjoin the new county administrative office facility.

RocaPoint Partners’ Phil Mays says, “The project is going to have a $1.1-billion impact on the local economy and create a more walkable environment to further support local business growth, as well as providing a distinct gathering place for residents and visitors.”
